Brunei implements Sharia Laws, Gay Sex punishable by stoning to death

Brunei Darussalam has announced the implementation of the country’s Islamic Sharia law, under which homosexual will be stoned to death for adultery. The implementation of Sharia will come into force from April 4, 2019. Brunei first introduced Islamic Law in 2014, after which the country had to implement both Sharia and general laws.

The state head said at the time that these Laws in the country will be completely enforced during the coming years. In the first phase of implementation of Shari’ah laws, those crimes whose punishment was imprison and fines were implemented in 2014. The second phase of the laws was delayed and their punishment was stoning and cutting hands of convicted.

Last week, the Brunei government said in a statement on its website that the Shariah panel code will be completely implemented from Wednesday. Under these laws, criminals on the conviction of rape, robbery, and Blasphemy will be punished to death. On abortion convicted will be punished with lashes in Public.

Apart from this, Convincing teenage Muslim children to adopt any other religion is now a crime. These laws are mostly for the Muslim population, but some of them also apply to non-Muslims.

Brinei is a small Island in Asia and 72 years old Sultan Hassan al Bolkiah is ruling the country. Total population of Brunei is 420000 and Two-third of it’s population is Muslim.
