126 Officials Killed in Taliban’s attack on Afghan Intelligence Base

The Taliban attacked the base of the Afghan Intelligence Agency, killing 126 people and injured several others.

According to a foreign news agency, the Taliban attacked the Intelligence Base in the eastern province of Wardak, early in the morning, resulting in the deaths of 12 military personnel and reported more than 30 injuries.

Later, Afghan officials said that at least 126 personnel were killed and many others injured.

The Taliban targeted this base of Afghan intelligence where police officers were also trained.

According to Interior Ministry spokeswoman Nasrat Rahimi, a suicide bomber in the car blew a vehicle near the main gate of the Military Base, after which two attackers fired fire on the personnel.

The spokesman said that both the invaders were killed in the two-way shootout, but they did not tell about the number of personnel killed in the Taliban attack.

On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack on intelligence base.

Salim Asghar Khel, head of the Public Health Department said that the people killed in the attack had been moved to various hospitals while the injured people have been moved to Kabul for treatment.
