Bangladesh has asked India to distribute the joint canals under a fixed agreement.
According to the International News Agency, the fifth meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission between the Foreign Ministers of Bangladesh and India was held in New Delhi.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Momin emphasized that the dispute should be solved now that Bangladesh can get its fixed water from its combined canals due to its enduring consensus on the distribution of water from its Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj.
On which Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj assured the process of implementing the ‘Tests Treaty for Distribution Irrigation’ among the parties, he said that he is working closely with positive progress for the dispute resolution.
Later, both the Ministers signed 4 memorandum of projects for specialist training, medicine, and economy projects. The Bangladesh External Affairs Minister will arrive in New Delhi today with 21 members of the delegation.
