India should not involve Pakistan in their Elections – Foreign Office

Pakistan rejects Indian objection on the telephonic conversation by Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Hurriyat leader Mir Waheed Umer Farooq.

During the weekly media briefing, the spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Department, Dr. Mohammad Faisal said that “Pakistan high commissioner was asked last night in India and was objected to the telephonic conversation, Pakistan rejects the objection of India.

He said that the occupied Kashmir is a controversial region and demanding the Pakistan High Commissioner from India is trying to influence its election.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that if the Indian government has to fight its elections, it should not involve us in it.

Dr. Mohammad Faisal further said that The Indian High Commissioner today was called Foreign Office on this issue.

Afghan peace process

On the question of journalists about Afghanistan during the briefing, the Spokesperson answered,

“The matters between the Taliban and the Afghan government are their own and hope that the Taliban and the Afghan government will resolve their problems together.”

Dr. Mohammad Faisal expressed concerns about the increasing activities on the Afghan border.

“There is a need to be cautious about the Afghan reconciliation process.”

The case of Asia Bibi

During the briefing, he also spoke about the Asia Bibi Case, which was declared innocent by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the blasphemy case. He said she is in Pakistan, but if she wants to go abroad, she can go.
